Unlock the activity first
You must have Thieving unlocked before attempting a den crate. Access to the den and its warp can also depend on progression. The current in-game menus explain the requirements that apply to your character.
Once you have earned the relevant destination access, use /warps to return. A crate’s required Thieving level is an additional check; reaching the den does not make every chest available.
Use the right tool
Hold a Lantern Guild Lockpick and right-click an authored den crate. Stay in place while the attempt runs. Walking away interrupts the task, so choose a moment when you can finish it.
The lockpick is a reusable tool. The custom crates are world props for this activity, not ordinary inventory containers full of removable loot.
Success, slips, and cooldowns
Successful picks reward coins and Thieving experience. If your hand slips, you take a small amount of damage and must wait briefly before retrying. Successful attempts also use a cooldown of about seven seconds across the crates.
Keep some health available before practising. Higher-tier containers need higher levels and reward more, giving you a reason to return as your skill improves.
Recognize the crate tiers
The den’s props include the Weathered Cargo Crate, Ironbound Strongbox, Azure Guild Chest, and Gilded Lantern Vault. Their appearance helps distinguish the tiers, but the displayed requirement is what determines whether you can attempt one.
Use the item field guide for individual crate facts and the in-game menu for your current rewards and bonuses. Values can change during balance updates.
